Loco for logos
To the millenials: Your logo is v import.
To the boomers: Clipart is not a logo.
To everyone in between: Your logo sets the tone for your entire company. Like it or not, we’re in a digital age and first impressions matter. Bigtime. We have 2.5 seconds (or less) to do everything in our power to make sure your potential client doesn’t click out of your page. And it’s shallow as can be, but a botched or rudimentary logo can do just that.
While a logo should outwardly echo your brand’s overall messaging and goal of service, I love logos with a little secret hidden inside of them to further the depth of your message. It’s sort of like a tattoo only you know about, or if you’re petrified of needles like I am, it’s the hidden stash of chocolate only you know exists.
For Claiborne Creative, my logo’s ninja spot is where the “t” from creative and the upside down “i” from Claiborne hangout. At first glance, this looks quirky and possibly a little extra… but for me, it’s my favorite part of the whole design and a grounding place for me to refer to when things get chaotic - because hello it’s life and things will get chaotic. And scary. And messy.
But I digress.
The point of this t/i connection is not an homage to the genius behind You Can Have Whatever You Like - that’s the second reason I like it - but the real reason is this is a reminder to me that Christ (the cross - or the t in this instance) must increase and i (lowercase & upside down) must decrease. If that remains my focus - it’s all good. He’s in control. I’m not. He’s working through me - not because He needs me - but because He gave and continues to give me this life and these gifts, and it is my greatest joy to use them to His glory — not mine.
I am a big fat sinner prone to self-worship, and if this little t/i can gut and heart check me 1 out of the 76 times I falter a day… it’s a win!
I would love to know your story and your brand’s goals beneath the goals. The underground. The nitty gritty that makes you get up in the morning and fight the Groundhog Day blues when Tuesdays somehow morph into Sunday evenings and we start all over again.
Let Claiborne Creative design a logo to wow your target market at first glance and secretly pull you toward the reason you started… all in one.
